What we collect
Basic account details (name, email, age verification, language, accessibility needs). Disability verification data (documents or statements) used only to confirm eligibility for disability-based matching. We do not keep copies long-term. How you use Capable Hearts (interests, messages, events, connections). Device and usage data (IP address, device type, login times). Location data for local events (with your consent).
How we use your data
Provide and personalize the service (matching, events, profiles). Ensure safety and security (verify disability status when needed, enforce policies, respond to reports). Communicate with you (notices, support). Improve accessibility and user experience (analytics in aggregate).
Disability verification data
We may request disability documents or statements to verify disability status for eligibility to join disability-based matching. Verification is used only to determine eligibility and safer introductions. We do not retain copies of disability documents long-term. A non-identifying verification status (e.g., verified_disability = true) may be kept for account eligibility, with original documents deleted or anonymized as soon as verification is completed or within a short retention window.
Data retention
Data is kept only as long as needed to provide the service and comply with law. You can request deletion of your data, subject to safety and legal considerations.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Notice. We’ll notify you of material changes.
We do not store uploaded documents or IDs and that they are deleted, especially since we are requesting disability verification.
